Garment of Righteousness

What garment do you have on?

Scripture is clear: there is a dress code for the Great Wedding Feast of YAH. The big question we must ask ourselves is: 'Are my garments ready?' or even, 'What garment am I wearing?' The best part is that our wonderful Heavenly Father gives us exact instructions on what this garment is and how to put it on.

Love in the Garments 

YAH requires us to wear the garments He has prepared for us before we enter His presence. We see this level of detail in the Temple era, where Aaron and his lineage were commanded to wear specific garments designed by YAH Himself. These requirements were so vital that a single missing detail, like the pomegranates and bells on the hem, could mean the difference between life and death. 

Exodus 28:33-35 

And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about: A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before Yahuah, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

The requirements regarding the garments to be worn at the Wedding Feast when we are in the presence of YAH represent an act of love. YAH provides a specific, written, and prepared covering for the ones who are called out, and walking in obedience and who want to enter the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. These garments are not merely symbolic but represent the necessary set apart and righteousness (the fine linen, clean and white) granted to the bride of Messiah, which she has prepared herself to wear. 

Revelation 7:14 

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 

Traditionally in a Hebrew wedding, the bride prepares the garments for the wedding feast. We have a faithful Father. He has sent us a helper to help us put on the wedding garments that He has picked out for us so we may be in His presence. So basically, He took all the guess work out of what to wear for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb; it's just a matter of us putting it on and walking it out.

Revelation 22:12, 17 

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is 

athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 

Ephesians 5:26-27 

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 

The Torah, the entirety of Scripture, serves as our blueprint to life, offering instructions on walking in righteousness. Our desire to live righteously is the start of the pursuit of being "clothed" in these righteous garments. Being born again means living as a new creation, reflecting the image of our Messiah in our daily walk. The circumcision of the heart, a deep inward change, is the starting point of putting on the garments YAH has prepared for us. 

John 3:3 

Yeshua answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of Elohim. 

Deuteronomy 10:16 

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked. 

We look to our High Priest, Yeshua, as the perfect example of this life. He is not merely a teacher of Torah (Law), but the "Living Torah," the embodiment of Elohim's instructions in human flesh.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Messiah, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

As we go about our lives, we are called to walk, talk, and treat others just as our Messiah

did. He is our ultimate covering, our garment of righteousness, and through faith and

obedience, His reflection should be visible within us.

1 John 4:19

We love him, because he first loved us. 

As part of the promise of the New Covenant we are invited to enter into. This helper enables us to prepare our bridal garments by manifesting His righteousness within us, searching our hearts so we may be ready for the glorious day of our Bridegroom’s return. 

1Corinthians 2:9-10 

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep 

things of God. 

John 16:13 

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Do not follow your own selfish will. Instead, die to self daily to mirror the Messiah, abiding in the Ruach HaKodesh's guidance. Keep your spiritual garments spotless and prepared, that you may be clothed in righteousness, worthy to enter The Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Walking in the authority of the Messiah, demonstrating the power that He has gifted us.

Call-to-action

Now I will leave you with a prayer.

Heavenly Father praise You! May you help me humble myself as I come before you and may it be to glorify your name. I ask you to search my heart and uproot any wickedness that may be in me. Change me and shape me into who you want me to be. Help me become a willing servant to walk in Your Righteous Ways. Father help me endure until the bridegroom returns. May you continue to help me get my garments ready so when the bridegroom returns I may be found without blemish. As I lift up my heart to you Father may you pour out your Set-Apart Spirit upon me to walk in Your Righteous Ways. Putting off the old, and putting on the new. Father please help me pray without ceasing because only when I am in your presence I am living set-apart. I am so weak I can do nothing without your help so I humbly come to you. Father please help me with all of these things because where it is impossible with man, all is possible with you. Praise your glorious name! I ask all this in Yeshua's name, let it be done amen.
