How Obedience Aligns You With Elohim’s Will

Our Heavenly Father calls us to focus on things above, yet even as His children, we must practice discernment. When someone shares a claim that contradicts Scripture, we must recognize the lie. We need spiritual wisdom to spot hidden arrows and protect ourselves from falling into deeper deception.

Why Discernment Matters

  • Test the message: Compare every piece of advice or news with the Word of Elohim.

  • Spot the lie: Recognize when a false statement tries to twist what Elohim loves or hates.

  • Shield your heart: Block the first trick so you do not let more harmful errors into your life.

  • Keep your focus: Stay anchored on things above instead of work of confusion.

(Colossians 3:2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

As parents, our blessing and joy is guiding children in truth and purity. We must guard their hearts and minds from worldly corruption, while helping them experience daily transformation through the life giving word of Elohim.

(Proverb 4:23) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

That being said, we know that traps lie in wait for us and our children. When my son was given an origami set, he was filled with excitement. Typically, I review every book beforehand to remove anything that might compromise his purity or peace of mind. However, during that particular moment, I let my guard down because I was privately battling bitterness. By lowering our shield, I left us vulnerable, and a spiritual arrow found its mark

(1 peter 5:8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

We looked at the page together. It said "fortune teller."

He asked, "What is this?"

I said, "This is an abomination to The Most High. It is wickedness."

I felt a strong urge to rip it out. I saw that tearing the page would also rip out two extra projects attached to it. I told him not to read it or look at it because it was wicked. Later on, I realized I had sinned in that moment and had not been obedient.

(1 John 3:4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Later in the day, my son approached me and asked, “Mom, how can this be wicked when it only says ‘back and forth’?” I felt a deep sense of grief in my spirit, but I knew it was important to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. I asked him, “Why didn’t you listen to me? I needed you to be obedient. I wouldn’t tell you something that could harm you; it’s meant to protect you.” After a thoughtful pause, he replied, “I wanted to see it for myself to know if it was wicked.” In that moment, the Rauch H`kodesh helped me realize that Elohim’s children often do the same. How much sorrow He must feel when we seek firsthand experience.

(Hebrews 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to Elohim must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Oh Heavenly Father, please forgive us. We are a rebellious people. I told my son that I am not mad at him, but I am disappointed. I am also disappointed in myself because I sinned by not fixing the problem right away, and he sinned by not obeying. My own sin helped lead to this painful moment.

(James 4:17)Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

I ripped it out and read to him how it is an abomination to The Most High. We also talked about how the enemy will come to us with what looks like harmless intentions, but in reality, it is a trick to get us to seek out wickedness. We need to be on guard and have the full armor on so the tricks of the enemy will not make us stumble.

(John 11:10) But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

(Ephesians 6:10-18)

Finally, my brethren, be strong in יהוה, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of Elohim, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of Elohim, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Elohim:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Walking in spirit and truth protects us from hidden traps. We must teach our children what Elohim likes and dislikes so they are not tricked by false ideas disguised as good.

(John 4:24) Elohim is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

First, we will examine the Scriptures to understand what our Heavenly Father hates, so we know what to avoid. Next, we will read what our Heavenly Father loves, so we can align our hearts with His desires. He knows us intimately by our fruit. To eliminate the weak, (bad fruit) that YAH hates, we must actively cultivate good fruit. By pouring our energy into growing good fruit, the weak fruit will naturally starve, wither, and be cut off. He tells us to set our minds and focus on things above, rather than on earthly things.

What Our Heavenly Father Hates

First, let us examine the scriptures to understand what displeases our Heavenly Father. We must know what to avoid.

(Proverbs 6:16-19) These six things doth the יהוה hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

  • Haughty eyes: A proud, arrogant attitude.

  • A lying tongue: Dishonesty and falsehood.

  • Hands that shed innocent blood: Violence and injustice.

  • A heart that devises wicked schemes: Planning evil actions.

  • Feet that are quick to rush into evil: Eagerness to sin.

  • A false witness who pours out lies: Deceiving others under oath.

  • A person who stirs up conflict in the community: Breaking unity.

 What Our Heavenly Father Loves

Next, let us look at the scriptures that reveal what delights His heart.

(Proverbs 11:20) They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the יהוה: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

(Proverbs 12:22) Lying lips are an abomination to the יהוה, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.

(Micah 6:8) He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the יהוה require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy Elohim.

(Psalm 11:7) For the righteous יהוה loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Known by Our Fruit

The Father recognizes His true followers by their actions and character.

(Matthew 7:16-20) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Starving the Weak Fruit

To remove the weak, sinful fruits that YAH hates, we do not focus on the negative. We cultivate the good.

(Galatians 5:22-23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Measiah have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Focus on Things Above

The key to cultivating this good fruit is redirecting our minds.

(Colossians 3:2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

(Philippians 4:8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Over all we need to keep our focused on the same rhythm of Our Heavenly Father. He blesses the ones who are Obedient.
